29th October 2005 - Uberstompf at The Tatty Bogle, Kingley Court, Soho - Debut gig! - with Stupid club

Our debut gig! For a first gig I think it went really well! The audience seemed to enjoy themselves and we certainly did! Thanks to Jon and Ewan for inviting us to play, to Ryan and Matty for sound and equipment, to Stupid Club for playing with us and lending us amps and to Ellie for taking photos... and of course to everyone who came along and SOLD OUT our first gig (people were turned away at the door because Tatty's was full!)

Set list: Set Starter Song, Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Dancey Song, Wendy Whack, Kat Man Do.

2nd November 2005 - The Caernarvon Castle, Chalk Farm Road, Camden with The Favours, Natalie Ross and The Renegades and The Fantastic A+E Line

A 'Saucy Lil' Tart' gig. We played last, at our first normal gig, i.e. playing to people we didn't know... and also our first paid gig! Plus, we were filmed for a documentary...

Set list: Set Starter Song, Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Dancey Song, Wendy Whack, Kat Man Do.

15th November 2005 - White Heat at Madame JoJo's, Brewer Street, Soho - with Snow White and The Alps

Our first gig at the club that bought us together - White Heat. We had such an amazing night, thanks to everyone who turned up early to see us - according to the tally on the door over 50 of you said you were coming to see Wolfie! We really enjoyed ourselves on stage and the few mistakes we made we hid well I think (ooops!). Loads of people took photos and our (very exciting sounding) documentary film crew filmed the whole thing - can't wait to see their final product when it's eventually finished! The Alps were great guys and Snow White were incredible on stage... then we all got very very drunk and danced the night away at White Heat. Thanks to Olly and Matty for having us and thanks again to Snow White for the use of their amps and drums... and thanks to everyone who came and cheered us on! We love you all! :-)

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Set Starter Song, Wendy Whack, Dancey Song, Kat Man Do.

8th December 2005 - Calling All Kids at Catch, 22 Kingsland Road, Old Street - with Circuits.

Quite a fun venue, nice and busy and very dark. There were a few sound problems but we still had fun, especially with the new ending we've written for 'Michael Caine'. Thanks loads to Circuits who played a storming first gig and lent us their incredibly nice drum kit too.

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Set Starter Song, Dancey song, Wendy Whack, Kat Man Do, Michael Caine.

12th December 2005 - Bardens Presents A Christmas Fiasco at Vibe Bar, Red Room, 91 Brick Lane, London, with My Way My Love, Awesome Color and Cleckhuddersfax.

Hooray! A Brilliant gig! We all had so much fun. There were loads of incredible circus-themed decorations and the other bands were all really good and really nice guys, especially Awesome Color from America, who were probably the nicest band we've met so far. We went on first and we played our songs well and the sound was good too... quite a few compliments from random strangers, which is always nice. Tom took loads of good photos (thanks!) and then we got drunk and danced around to the other bands until closing time!

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Set Starter Song, Dancey song, Wendy Whack, Kat Man Do, Michael Caine.

16th December 2005 - Rhyme and Reason Christmas Party at Water Rats, 328 Grays Inn Road, Kings cross - with Free Repeater, Dancing with Henry and Jason and the Astronauts.

A proper gig venue with everything fully mic-ed up and monitors for us all! Good for putting one leg up on and looking rock'n'roll ;-) We played a good set and the sound was good too.

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Set Starter Song, Dancey song, Wendy Whack, Kat Man Do, Michael Caine.

20th December 2005 - The Garage Islington - PRS Music Alliance private Christmas party gig.

Wow, what an amazing gig! We only played three songs as there were about 20 other bands playing too, and it was a bit stressful at first with only a few minutes to plug everything in and get the levels right, but it all went really well and we had so much fun! The sound guy was clearly a genius. It was the PRS private Christmas party and we were playing because Cesca works there. Everyone was a bit drunk and in the mood for dancing! We had planned to play Boys Don't Cry by The Cure, but had to drop it because things were running late... downstairs at The Garage is a great venue, I'd love it if one day we could play there again with a full set... maybe in 2006!

Set list: Set Starter, Quiff Quitta, Wendy Whack.

12th January 2006 - Wolf theme night! Kill Yr Idols at The Tatty Bogle, Kingly Court, Soho, with Operation Wolf and Run Wolves Run.

Our return to The Tatty Bogle club, less than 3 months after out first gig there! This was a Kill Yr Idols club night with a Wolf theme, so a bit of a special one. We managed to build a drum kit and bass amp out of all the old bits we found lying around and everything went pretty well, certainly a lot of fun and a good crowd as always! Thanks to Becky and Camille for having us play and thanks to Matty for the sound engineering, and thanks of course to anyone who came along to watch us.

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Set Starter Song, Dancey song, Wendy Whack, Michael Caine, Kat Man Do.

17th January 2006 - White Heat at Madame JoJo's, Brewer Street, Soho - with ddd and Teenage Mutants

Our return to White Heat, playing with ddd and Teenage Mutants. Poor Tim was ill and at the last moment, our friend Ben stepped in and somehow managed to play Tim's vital guitar parts pretty much spot on, first time with no proper practice! Despite some tuning problems we still did a good set and had fun on stage... we also played our new song 'Only Human' for the first time! As a special treat, onehundredrecords produced a free CD and badges for the first 100 people through the door, especially for the event, with songs from all three of the bands on there - Kat Man Do and Wendy Whack from us (live demo versions). So - thanks to White Heat and ddd for the night and big thanks to Ben for playing at such short notice and saving the day! p.s. Tim is now better!

Set list: Set Starter, Quiff Quitta, Dancey Song, Michael Caine, Wendy Whack, Only Human, Kat Man Do.

26th January 2006 - Colour Bar, 22 Inverness Street, Camden with The Swear and The Michelles. A Saucy Lil' Tart gig.

Saucy Lil' Tart booked us again to play at this nice little bar under a restaurant in Camden. Thanks to Nat for having us back, and to The other bands for sharing of equipment. The highlight of the gig was the brilliant incredibly stoned man wearing shades who danced away like a demon and was very appreciative of our music! The Swear were brilliant and all really nice guys too.

Set list: Set Starter, Quiff Quitta, Dancey Song, Michael Caine, Wendy Whack, Only Human, Kat Man Do.

31st January 2006 - Artrocker, at The Buffalo Bar, Islington, with King Alexander.

Our first gig at the legendary Artrocker club, in the Buffalo Bar in Islington. What can I say? It was incredible - everyone was very nice to us, the sound guy was a genius, King Alexander were great and lovely people too and the venue was great to play at! Thanks to everyone who came along especially to see us, and to the Artrocker guys for having us to play. Thanks to Tom for the last moment loan of a guitar amp! It was probably the best gig we've played so far, everything just came together nicely and we all had a fantastic time. Sadly though, it was our last gig with Tim who later had to decide to leave the band due to other time commitments. A great last gig for him to go out on though.

Set list: Set Starter, Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Dancey Song, Wendy Whack, Only Human, Kat Man Do.

23rd February 2006 - No Recess - Nirvana tribute night with Kill Yr Idols, at The Tatty Bogle, Kingly Court, Soho.

We came up with the idea to hold a Nirvana tribute night, and went to our friends at KillYrIdols to host it for us, and what a great night it turned out to be! Loads of bands played, including Tiger Force, Dev (from Testicicles), Stupid Club, Teenage Mutants, Severed White, Tim Holehouse, Orchid Trip, The Dennis Norden Five and even a solo acoustic set from Wolfie drummer Mark (Mixedcases). Thanks to Stupid Club for help with the drums and to Becky and Camille of course. We were joined on stage by Tim Holehouse on guitar who did a great job of thrashing out the Nirvana classics, we played them in more of the original Vaselines style, but quite a lot louder! It was a great night and cool to have so many bands all helping out each other and playing together.

Set list: Mollys Lips, Son Of A Gun, Only Human (Wolfie).

6th April 2006 - The Fall-Out Club at The Pool, Old Street, 104-108 Curtain Road, EC2. Playing with Atoms For Peace, Circuits and guests. 8pm-1am, and free entry all night!

This was our first gig with just the four of us and also our first proper gig for two months due to recording... it went ok, but in all honesty it didn't show us at our best, due in part to sound and feedback problems and the lack of a sound check... We played our new song 'Sweets' and tried out new synth parts on Kat Man Do and Cesca played more guitar than ever before, particularly in Quiff Quitta, which sounded pretty good. Thanks to Frankie and Atoms for having us play, and providing the amps and drums, and thanks to everyone who came along - quite a few people in fact!

Set list: Set Starter, Quiff Quitta, Dancey Song, Michael Caine, Only Human, Sweets, Wendy Wack, Kat Man Do.

13th May 2006 - The 80p Festival at Bardens, Stoke Newington.

A night arranged by our very own singer, Gemma! Your 80p entry fee got you a brilliant line up of bands including Headless, Clues, Atoms For Peace, Die Die Deneuve, Sailplanes, 1877 and ourselves. Gemma did an amazing job with the lights and organisation, and we all helped out with the sound. There were even some Wolfie DJs in between bands! The night was certainly a huge success. Ben once again joined us on guitar and did a great job of course!

Set list: Set Starter, Quiff Quitta, Wendy Wack, Michael Caine, Sweets, Only Human, Kat Man Do.

Photos:...coming soon.

7th June 2006 - The RCA, with Die Die Deneuve

A nice little DIY gig, setting up in the corner of the student bar. There wasn't that many people there, but we just went with it and enjoyed ourselves... and had a great time! Die Die Deneuve were brilliant, by the way. Thanks loads to Oliver for letting us use his guitar amp for the night too, you saved the day.

Set list: Set Starter, Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Sweets, Only Human, Wendy Wack, Kat Man Do.

17th June 2006 - iShotTheDeputy at The Enterprise, Chalk Farm tube. Playing with Sunnyvale Noise Sub-Element, Popular Workshop and Chik Budo.

Just four of us again for this gig, as Ben was at a wedding. We also had the world cup to contend with. We turned the noise up a little to compensate, and really enjoyed ourselves. We played Wendy Wack at 100mph and the legendary/mythical 'Magic Room' as an encore. In the organiser, Theo's own words: "Wolfie put in a fantastic performance and I have to keep reminding myself that I'm meant to be doing the sound, not just enjoying it all... Cesca does the duty of two guitarists and tonight she's on form, except for worrying about her distortion pedal's awesome levels of screaming feedback. We love it, but she doesn't believe us... or maybe she just values her hearing? Whatever, the band seems on top form and tear through their set with glee". Thanks for having us Theo!

Set list: Set Starter, Quiff Quitta, Sweets, Michael Caine, Only Human, Wendy Wack, Kat Man Do, Magic Room (Enterprise version!).

20th June 2006 - White Heat at Madame JoJo's, Soho - with The Early Years and Amusement Parks On Fire.

Despite a bit of a clash with the World Cup again, by the end of our set there were quite a few people watching us. This was definitely one of the best gigs we've played in terms of the sound and how together we were, we were all quite happy with it and enjoyed ourselves too. The Early Years and Amusement Parks On Fire were great too and really nice guys (thanks for the amp and drum loan!). Thanks to everyone who came and watched, to Matty for putting us on, to Ellie for taking photos and to Pablo for being a brilliant sound engineer.

Set list: Set Starter, Quiff Quitta, Sweets, Michael Caine, Only Human, Wendy Wack, Kat Man Do.

25th June 2006 - The PopArt Weekender - day two, at Lark In The Park (Angel, Islington, London). Playing with Headless, Swimsuit Issue, The Bicycle Thieves, Ten Foot Nun and Fanfarlo, plus DJs, acoustic performances in the garden, games and competitions!

A daytime gig at a nice little pub near to Angel. Thanks Dom for organising it all.

Set list: Set Starter, Quiff Quitta, Sweets, Michael Caine, Only Human, Wendy Wack, Kat Man Do.

31st August 2006 - Secret(ish) gig in deepest, darkest Stoke Newington with The Ferral Moans and Quentin.

A proper lo-fi gig in Gemma's house for Christian's birthday party. No stage, no PA, not much tuning up... but lots of fun! Gemma just shouted as loud as she could with no microphone and everyone probably drank too much. It's a miracle we didn't try to play 'Magic Room'...

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Ice Cream, Set Starter, Only Human.

11th October 2006 - Rock n Roll Ain't Noize Pollution, Pool Bar, Curtain Rd, Shoreditch, London with Sunset Gun and Popular Workshop.

Our first full gig in a while, and we came back with a bang... well loads of feedback and noisy guitars anyway. Gemma made her guitar playing debut and Tim was there to see us and say hi! Thanks to Popular workshop for their kit and amp loan. It was one of our more shambolic gigs, but everyone had fun and that's what counts after all!

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Set Starter, Michael Caine, Only Human, Ice Cream, Wendy Wack, Kat Man Do.

28th October 2006 - Manchester: Fiction non Fiction @ In The City, Manchester, playing at 4pm in the afternoon with loads of other bands at this city-wide festival.

We finally ventured outside of London and had a steamingly good weekend, ending with a drunken dance at the Star And Garter. Thanks to Ed for driving us and massive thanks to Matt and Carl for putting us up (and putting up with us!) for the night. We had a great time and met loads of nice people.

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Set Starter, Michael Caine, Oh Winona, Only Human, Ice Cream, Wendy Wack, Kat Man Do.

17th November 2006 - Bath: Purr Club @ Invention, Bath, with Help She Can't Swim and The Retro Spankees.

After a four and a half hour drive and dodgy directions by local street-corner loitering kids, we found Purr club and were welcomed by the wonderful Delia with a huge spread of food and drink and some really helpful and friendly organisers. We had a great time, the other bands were great and really nice guys too and the venue was pretty big with a fair few people watching. We had fun, it was a really nice atmosphere and we'd love to play at Purr again one day!

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Oh Winona, Only Human, Ice Cream, Wendy Wack, Kat Man Do.

18th November 2006 - Brighton: The Wardrobe shop in Kensington Gardens, Brighton, with The Pheromoans and Fisher Price Landmine.

Next day we headed down to Brighton and after much fun with cancelled trains arrived at the upstairs of a cute little shop in the North Lanes. We had a little stage shaped like a catwalk and I had to sit behind the drums in a little booth at the back. There were loads of shoes hanging from the ceiling. We proceeded to get drunk while watching Fisher Price Landmine, who were absolutely fantastic, playing acoustic with no microphones, then our friends The Pheromoans, but which time it was pretty packed. Someone complained about the volume and for a while it looked like we wouldn't get to play... but fortunately, after persuading the organiser we would not be too loud, we set up and steamed drunkenly but confidently through our set, with guitar amp as bass amp and mic stand as cymbal stand. We had a great time, followed by wanderings on the sea front and generally wasting time until the 4am train. I got home at 8:20am, but it was a great night out and well worth it. The sweetest part was when the audience had a whip-round for us in a plastic pint glass, thanks guys! :-)

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Oh Winona, Only Human, Ice Cream, Wendy Wack, Kat Man Do.

6th December 2006 - Catch 22, Kingsland Road, with Fanfarlo and guests.

This was a fun one! We were all in a great mood, Ilana was full of vodka and I was full of curry. We really enjoyed ourselves on stage in our last gig of 2006. I had an extra special gig as I got to play guitar afterwards for the Fanfarlo set too! It's been a good year for Wolfie.

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Ice Cream, Only Human, Wendy Wack, Oh Winona, Kat Man Do.

18th January 2007 - The Fiddlers Elbow, Kentish Town, with 6th Edition, Peyote Coyote and Roll Call For The Second Site.

A small gig in a small pub in Kentish Town. It was our first gig of the year and a bit of a warm up but it went well and we had fun as always... 'Wolfie gigs have a tendency to turn into parties' after all! Thanks for the guys from The Pheromoans for coming along and beating us at pool.

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Ice Cream, Only Human, Wendy Wack, Oh Winona, Kat Man Do.

30th January 2007 - The Old Blue Last, Shoreditch. With The Bobby McGees and Hicks Milligan Prophecy and guests.

An especially fun gig, at the Old Blue Last near Old Street. The rest of the bands were great and we went on last to a pretty full venue and made some noise (though pretty in tune noise for a change!). The sound was good and we all had loads of fun - with the set ending with a special guest... a dog called Tilly who unfortunately got stage fright at the last moment and refused to howl along to Kat Man Do.

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Ice Cream, Only Human, Wendy Wack, Oh Winona, Kat Man Do.

16th February 2007 - The Fly Bar, New Oxford Street. Schla La La's single launch.

It was really cool to be asked to open for the Schla La La's at their single launch party, and although it was a bit of a rush for soundcheck and a bit early in the evening, we did ok and played to a fair number of people. Cesca's guitar bag was stolen though which is a big shame, lucky her guitar wasn't in it at the time. Anyway, a fun gig and nice to meet the Schla La La's and of course Piney Gir!

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Ice Cream, Only Human, Michael Caine, Wendy Wack, Oh Winona, Kat Man Do.

5th March 2007 - The Windmill, Brixton, with USA Is A Monster, Infants and Tim Holehouse.

Cesca has known USA Is A Monster and been a fan for ages, so it was great to be able to play with them on their UK tour. Tim (one-time Wolfie stand-in guitarist!) made some fantastic sounds too, and Infants were incredible, one of Wolfie's new best friends! We renamed all the songs in our set in their honour...

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Ice Cream, Michael Caine, Wendy Wack, Only Human, Oh Winona, Kat Man Do.

7th April 2007 - Chapter, Canton, Cardiff - With Sidecar Kisses, Silence At Sea and The Darlington Jacks

Another gig out of London and technically our first foreign gig! The promoters were absolutely the nicest people we've ever met and treated us really well, even giving us a key to their house so we could let ourselves in after we got back from Twisted club, where we went for a post-gig dance! The gig itself was also pretty good, held in the theatre in the Chapter arts centre, with a great big sound like a stadium. The other bands were great too and we had a brilliant time in Wales, hope we can do it again soon! Thanks loads to everyone involved, including Delia who suggested us for the gig in the first place.

Set list: Quiff Quitta, Michael Caine, Ice Cream, Wendy Wack, Only Human, Oh Winona, Stacey, Kat Man Do.

10th April 2007 - Esprit photo shoot, Madame Jo Jo's, London

Definitely our strangest gig ever - being the band in the background for a photo shoot for clothes brand Esprit, getting paid to mime to our own songs while thirty extras and models jumped around and pretended we were the best band ever... until the photographer called 'cut' of course! It was actually a really interesting experience, despite the 5am start and well worth doing, plus we met loads of nice people. Thanks to Kate for booking us!

Set list: Quiff Quitta (a few times)... and Ice Cream and Only Human... mimed!

Photos: Taken by Mark

21st April 2007 - Love Buzz, Archway, London

This turned out to be our last gig, and sadly it wasn't a great one. I would have liked us to go out with a bang and a great party gig - maybe one day that will happen... fingers crossed!

Set list: Lost in the mists of time
